Dock Leveller

A dock leveller is a mechanical or hydraulic device used in warehouses and loading bays to bridge the distance between a dock and a truck or trailer. It provides smooth and safe loading and unloading of products by adjusting for height variances between the dock and the truck bed. Dock levellers come in a variety of types, including hydraulic, mechanical, and air-powered, and are typically installed in a recessed pit at the dock's edge. They improve operational efficiency, decrease damage to items and equipment, and ensure worker safety by providing a sturdy transition platform.

Dock levellers are classified into numerous types, including hydraulic, mechanical, air-powered, and vertical variants, each designed to meet distinct operational requirements. Hydraulic dock levellers are the most popular due to their dependability, convenience of use, and low physical effort. They work at the push of a button and are perfect for facilities with high-volume loading operations. Mechanical dock levellers, while less expensive, require manual activation using pull chains and springs. Air-powered dock levellers use air bag systems to lift the platform and are a cleaner, lower-maintenance option. Vertical dock levellers are typically utilized in cold storage facilities to promote better environmental control.
